Solent Sports Spitfires player, Alfie Francis is Supporting Men Who Talk.

At the end of the 2025/26 season, Alfie Francis was presented with the Spitfires’ Solent Sports Award.

For those who don’t know, this award is given to a player who truly represents the spirit of Solent Sports — inclusion, attitude, commitment and looking out for others.

Alfie has gone a step further at the start of this season by organising his own fundraiser for Men Who Talk, a charity providing free-to-access online spaces where men across the UK can talk, socialise and receive support.

This is why Alfie chose them:

“I picked Men Who Talk because I have friends who suffer with their mental health and I have family members who have died by suicide due to mental health struggles.

I wanted to make sure my friends and family knew about this charity, so they knew there are people out there who care and can help and support them.

I want to get this charity out there so more people are aware that it’s available. Any support would be greatly appreciated 😊”

For an U15 player, the maturity, compassion and determination Alfie is showing is something we are incredibly proud of.

We’re sharing his fundraiser below and anything you can give to support Alfie and Men Who Talk would be hugely appreciated.

But support doesn’t only mean donating.

❤️ Come along to the event.
⚽ Cheer the teams on.
👏 Show Alfie that what he is doing matters.

We’d love to see a big Solent Sports turnout so Alfie can see just how much of a difference one young person can make by deciding to help others.

📅 Sunday 20th September

📍Mount Pleasant Rec, Hamble.
⚽ Kick-off: 2pm.

💛 Wellbeing over winning. This is what Solent Sports is all about.
