Solent Sports Vets in to the Hampshire Cup Final!
The Solent Sports Merlins – The Hamble based vets team and one of our original sides – have only gone and made the Hampshire Vets Cup Final.
The semi final was against a our friends Burridge FC, at the break Merlins we’re two-nil down but they battled hard to bring it back to 3-3 and taking the game to penalties.
A huge chunk of this group has been together since day one. From finishing bottom of the league in their very first season with just one point, They stuck together enjoying the games and challenges and this weekend they made club history by becoming cup finalists.
It’s graft. It’s sticking together when it’s tough. It’s turning up week after week, backing each other, learning, improving and believing.
This run is everything grassroots football should be about – progress, resilience and community.
Whatever happens in the final, this team has already written a brilliant chapter in the Solent Sports story.
