⚽ Solent Sports Youth Football Hub – Portsmouth

We’ve seen first hand the incredible impact football can have on adult mental wellbeing and the positive difference it makes within our communities.

Now it’s time to do the same for the next generation.

Solent Sports FC is proud to announce the launch of our brand new Youth Football Hub in Portsmouth . A project designed to change the face of youth football and make a real impact on society.

This isn’t just football training.

This is something bigger, this is something that will make a real difference to the lives of our young people and the best bit is it’s free for all to take part.

🌟 What is the Youth Hub?

A safe, welcoming space for young people aged 12–16 to:

⚽ Play football in a positive environment

🤝 Build friendships and confidence

📱 Learn about social media and content creation

📸 Explore sports photography

🩺 Gain first aid awareness

🧑‍🏫 Learn about coaching and refereeing

🌍 Get involved in community projects

We want young people to understand that football is more than 90 minutes on a pitch, it’s opportunity, skills, belonging and purpose.

🎓 Young Leaders Award (Ages 16–18)

For older players aged 16–18, we will be introducing a Solent Sports Young Leaders Award.

This programme will give young people:

First-hand experience supporting sessions
Opportunities to assist with coaching
Refereeing experience
Mentoring younger players
Involvement in social media and event organisation
Leadership and responsibility within the club

This creates a real pathway from player ➝ leader ➝ role model.

We don’t just want to develop footballers, we want to develop future coaches, referees, media creators and community leaders.

The programme will be led by our experienced coach Gary, alongside Paige and Abbie from Solent Sports Women. Providing strong role models and positive leadership for young people.
