A Galaxy full of stars

U16 Galaxy booked their place in the Mid Solent Challenge Cup Final with a strong 7–0 victory over Meon Milton.

The opening 20 minutes were closely contested, with both sides battling to gain control. Galaxy began to settle once Muzzy Metinol came off the bench, bringing composure to midfield and helping the team move the ball more effectively.

Midway through the first half, Nathan Pennicott delivered an excellent cross from the left, with Tom Snook timing his run perfectly to open the scoring. Shortly after, Kenny Sherwood doubled the lead with a clever long-range effort that caught the Meon Milton goalkeeper off guard, giving Galaxy a 2–0 advantage at half-time.

The second half saw an inspired performance from captain Frank Lemmon, who led by example throughout. He made an immediate impact after the restart, striking from distance to make it 3–0. Kenny Sherwood then added his second from the penalty spot, putting Galaxy firmly in control.

Galaxy continued to play some excellent football, with further goals from Nathan Pennicott and Frank Lemmon, before Kenny Sherwood completed his hat-trick to seal a comprehensive 7–0 victory. Every player contributed to a strong team performance and a well-earned place in the final.

Thank you to Meon Milton for the game and for their sportsmanship at the final whistle. We wish them all the best for the remainder of their season.
